Buying a Laptop from China (or anything else)

If you’re hoping to buy a laptop from China - or any other electronic toy such as a mobile phone - on the basis that purchase from China will be cheaper, the best advice may well be ‘Don’t’. Read on . . .

There is a constant streams of cheap electronics scams running out of China. If you are looking to buy anything that is usually a) expensive and b) branded - Sony laptops, Apple iPhones, Nikon cameras - and have found a supplier in China which is offering the goods at a heavy discount - stop. It’s a scam.

These items are simply not available reliably at any significant discount from China.
